One quiet night in Twilight's new castle, the Princess of Friendship sat alone in her bedroom. She looked out at the thunderstorm raging outside. But despite the powerful display of thunderbolts and lightning, Twilight felt safe and secure... and she new her friends felt the same, relishing each other's company.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
"Come in!" Twilight called. The door to her bedroom slowly swung open... and in strode a beautiful mare, wearing a pale blue nightgown. It was Trixie Lulamoon.
"Hi, Princess Twilight...~" Trixie merrily said.
"Trixie! So, you got my letter? Did Derpy have any trouble finding you at the diner?" Twilight was eager for a reply.
Trixie boastfully closed her eyes and gave a hoot. "Oh ho ho, Sparkle. There's no way Derpy would let a silly little thunderstorm frighten her away. And the same can be said for the Great and Powerful Trixie, as well!"
Twilight raised an eyebrow, though. "Really, now? Teeheehee…"
Trixie noticed Twilight's snide expression. "YES, Sparkle. Trixie isn't a foal anymore! A thunderstorm won't scare her, especially with the thick roof over her head! Seriously, Twilight. You need to stop make such assumpti--?"
At that moment, a bright flash and a loud clap of thunder made Trixie jump a foot into the air! "AAAIIIII!!!" She screamed and bolted right at Twilight, who caught her and reassuringly patted her head.
"There, there, Trixie," Twilight cooed.
Trixie obviously felt embarrassed by her latest freak-out. "Hmph. Stupid storm..."
"That's okay, Trixie. You'd be surprised if you saw how common astraphobia really is." Twilight giggled playfully, her hooves wrapped snugly around the blue magician.
Twilight held Trixie close for a moment.
"So... where is everypony, Twilight?" Trixie quizzed. "I was expecting the castle to be a lot fuller..."
"Everypony living or working in the castle deserved some down-time, especially after what just happened," Twilight clarified. "Bugzzy and Nyx are having a sleepover with the Crusaders... Starlight and Sunset are on dates with Sunburst and Flash, respectively... Silverlay is spending a well-deserved night with Applejack... and surprisingly, Rarity personally invited Spike to spend the night with her at the boutique. Also, the workers are spending time with their families, and Fizzlepop left a few minutes ago to meet with Pharynx tonight..."
Fizzlepop's whereabouts are fresh in Trixie's mind. "Oh! I suppose that explains why she was in such a hurry to guide me to your room!"
As her friend laughed, Twilight added, "It could also be because this castle's like a maze, since I've hardly seen any of it! I'm amazed I was able to plot a path from my room to the bathroom without tying a rope to myself! Hahahahaha!"
The two ponies laughed in each other's embrace for about 15 seconds. Then, Trixie decided to get some answers. "So... what you're telling me is..."
"I pretty much have the whole castle to myself tonight, Trixie. I was starting to get lonely." Twilight spoke somberly. "But... now that you're here...~"
Trixie blushed as Twilight's lips planted a kiss on her nose. With a sly smirk, Trixie moved in for a kiss of her own. The two locked lips for a while. Then, once their lips parted, Twilight and Trixie crawled into bed together. Trixie nuzzled her head beneath Twilight's snout.
"Well, well, well, Sparkle...~" Trixie seductively mumbled. "Trixie knew you couldn't resist her charms.~"
"True, true...~" Twilight sighed, beginning to slide her hoof down Trixie's back. "So... Out of all the ponies in Equestria, why'd you choose the Geeky and Humble Twilight?"
Trixie looked at Twilight, her eyes only half-open. "Oh, come on, Princess. You already know."
Twilight, undeterred, insisted she hear the tale again. "Yeah... but I still like hearing you SAY it."
"Ugh... Fine.~" Trixie surrendered. "Twilight... The reason I chose you is because, well... You're my hero. Even after the years I spent resenting you for making Celestia forget me, and after the incident with the Ursa Minor breaking my home... You didn't give up on me. After I tried to destroy you with the Alicorn Amulet, I thought you'd despise me as I did you. But you... ...ah... y-you...~"
Trixie was partially petrified, tingling as Twilight started kissing the front of her neck. "Go on," Twilight whispered between smooches.
Trixie's face was red like a tomato as she kept talking. "After... all I did to you... a-all you've shown me is friendship... compassion... care... and t-then... oooohh… you and I end up becoming... unh… l-lovers...~"
"That's exactly right, Trixie.~ And... I return your feelings because I knew you have potential. Thank you for being my friend... and thank you for giving me a chance to show you how much others care about you." At that point, Twilight gently pushed a hoof onto Trixie's belly. The blue mare let out a satisfied "squee." "Y'know... I'm still shocked by how soft and cuddly your body is..."
"Is that a fact? Well... You're quite irresistible yourself...~" Trixie said as she boldly began running her lips across Twilight's neck and chest, causing the young Alicorn to gasp with delight.
It was clear that the two ponies enjoyed each other's company... and so much more. As they kissed, Twilight tried her best to touch Trixie's soft coat through her gown, while Trixie started gently rubbing Twilight's tummy and ribs. There was no shortage of laughter between the pair as they "disabled the safeties" on their love for each other.
There was a brief pause.
"Mmmm… I love you so much, Twilight," Trixie moaned.
"And I love you, too, Trixie Lulamoon," Twilight whispered. "We've been through a lot of hard times... But for me... you make it all worth it.~"
Trixie's eyes narrowed. "Enough talk... geek.~"
In short order, the two began kissing passionately. It wasn't long before they opened their eyes to gaze at each other. Then... they used their horns to drape a large blanket over their whole bodies... and began shifting around rhythmically, softly giggling...
It was the greatest, most powerful night of their lives.
